1. David Bowie
Rumored to have a sexual relationship with Rolling Stones frontman Mick Jagger, David Bowie was embraced by the gay community when he revealed his androgynous alter-ego, Ziggy Dust.
He also told playboy magazine in 1946 that he is bisexual.
But, he later admitted that he was probably just a closet heterosexual.

2. Prince
Prince was known for his colorful performances. He was also able to play many instruments.
Considered as one of the best-selling musical artists of all time, he embraced his androgyny and sexuality in a way that made it cool for others to follow their real identity.

3. Elton John
Elton John first came out as bisexual in 1976 when he was in an interview with the Rolling Stone. He also announced in 1998 the comfort of being gay brought him.
Since 1993, he has been in a relationship with David Furnish. The couple has 2 children.

4. Freddie Mercury
Freddie Mercury never openly spoke about his sexuality in public but many believed he was gay in sexual orientation.
The lead singer of Queen was a popular icon in the gay community.

5. Adam Lambert
This American Idol contestant opened his sexuality in an exclusive television interview for 20/20.
Growing up, he mentioned how dressing up, dancing, and obsession with glitter was always one of his interests even when he was younger.

6. Sam Smith
Sam Smith identifies himself as a genderqueer and nonbinary.
Ever since he was a little boy, Sam Smith was not comfortable being gay. He mentioned this in an interview with HuffPost.
“I feel just as much woman as I am a man,” he also expressed in an interview in the Sunday Times back in 2017.

7. Ricky Martin
Did you know the King of Latin Pop Ricky Martin is gay?
Ricky Martin is a Puerto Rican singer, actor, and author. He began his career at the age of 12 with the all-boy pop group Menudo.
He also released several Spanish-language solo albums throughout the 1990s.

8. George Michael
This singer-songwriter came out gay in 1998.
He was an active LGBT rights campaigner and HIV/AIDS charity fundraiser.
He also rose to fame as a member of the music duo Wham.

9. Jason Mraz
Coming out as gay in a form of a “love letter” to the LGBTQ+ community, he came out as part of a Billboard feature during Pride month last June 2018.

10. Troye Sivan
This South African-born Australian Singer-songwriter is open about his sexuality of being gay.
He came out publicly as gay in his YouTube video (but of course, that’s right after he came out to his family.)
